We’re still a bit of a secret in Chicago: a small community for meeting new people and exploring the city without endless swiping and planning. Whether you’ve been to a few experiences or just found us, this is where you’ll get full details on what’s coming up and what we’re building next.

what's happening in May?

May 2025 Experiences & Socials

Every month, we’re curating new experiences so you can find your people doing things you actually enjoy. So here’s what we have planned this month:

May 9th (Fri): Dinner & Karaoke Lounge + Club Experience

You’ll begin at dinner to meet 5-7 others we think you’ll enjoy and then we’ll turn it up a notch at karaoke. We’ll have two private rooms for an hour when we arrive, and then finish the night off with some dancing at the same venue.

May 15 (Thurs): Dinner & Rooftop Bar

You’ll have dinner with your closest matches followed by a rooftop bar to enjoy views of the city while meeting other members.

May 19 (Mon): Happy Hour + Swing Dancing

You’ll kick things off with casual bites and happy hour drinks, then head outside for a swing dance lesson and live music to keep the night going.

Late May: a 3rd Space Social - Music + Connections

We’re currently finalizing details for a social that’ll include a live DJ, food & drink for purchase, and an activity for you to meet new people.

TBD: Dinner/Drinks & Seminar on the Rocks

Though “Seminar on the Rocks” might seem like a new event concept, you get the idea: food/drinks with a group designed for you, a guest lecturer teaching an interesting topic for people in their 20s, and held at a cool bar instead of a classroom. For the intellectually curious looking to leave an event feeling slightly smarter :)

Sooo what about outdoor events?

Yes, as soon as we know Summertime Chi is in full motion! Outdoor events are coming and you may even see one pop up that’s not on this calendar this month or in June. Stay glued to our text invitations.

COMMUNITY
updates to our app

Since our launch last July, we’ve hosted 20+ events and learned a ton from your feedback. Based on that, we finally believe it’s time to start the process of building out a dedicated iOS mobile app. 🎉

We’ve been quietly researching and conducting interviews with our community to understand what would make 3rd Space more intuitive and personal, from how people match into groups to easier ways to reconnect after an event.

As we’ve gotten this information, we’ve rolled out improvements and will continue to do so as we work towards giving you the smoothest event experience yet.

And if you’re reading this… you’ll be the first to try it.
